What an active three months these have been. Such a positive start was made to this period with our visit from World Challenge. Twelve 16 yr olds from Moulton School Northampton came, accompanied by leaders and teacher, for ten days. They wasted no time in their efforts to build Butterfly an amazing playground. Al and Howard, English carpenters, Johnny and Craig were also here from day one to offer their competent skills.
Once all the materials were gathered from local sources and they arrived safely, the land was cleared. Designs were discussed extensively over email and around the table at Butterfly. The results of this gave us; a slide, cargo net, see-saw, running tyres, concrete area, benches, swings, wobbly bridge, hideout jungle gym, balancing beam and monkey bars. I have been lucky enough to hear the laughter and buzz of activity every day since it was opened. The children of the local area didn’t hang around whilst it was being built either as they crept up while everyone was still working, to test each phase. They are here every day without fail after school to enjoy the efforts of everyone involved....
